It depends on the products. For Employment report, our packages are set up to go back on the last 5 past years and HireRight will provide employment reports of the 2 last experiences within these 5 years. If you want to add additional employer check to the package, you will need to add “à la carte” product (E.g: 1 if your applicant has worked in 3 different companies within these 5 years are the two last ones are included in the package).

Education report is the highest level obtained.

All other products are based off the last address provided.

All customers undergo credentialing review. Credentialing enables HireRight to confirm that its subscribers are valid legal entities and that they will comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) and other applicable laws.

For U.S. based clients, we need to verify that your business does not share office space with another entity, that reasonable security controls are in place, and that there is proper business signage. This helps HireRight verify the presence of an ongoing business with a permissible purpose for obtaining consumer background report information and adequate security to protect said information. TrendSource, our third party contractor will contact you to schedule an onsite inspection. Please allow several business days for TrendSource to complete the onsite inspection report prior to sending it to HireRight for a final review. If you are already have an account with HireRight you may not be subjected to the onsite inspection again; HireRight will review your existing account to verify.

For International based clients, the process consists of checking your company’s information either through third party sources or by obtaining a business license or equivalent. The process also includes checking the export.gov alert list for banned businesses. Credentialing only takes a few days at most, and should not delay your account setup or onboarding as it will begin once the account is in our system.

Once the credentialing process is complete, you will be able to view your reports in HireRight.
