New California law requires employee background checks
Beginning January 1, 2013, California law requires all veterinary assistants who have access to controlled substances to be background checked. The CVMA recommends the veterinary assistant package which meets the requirements of Business and Prodessions Code 4836.1(b).
While not required under the new law, a package is also available if you wish to conduct a background check on licensed staff such as veterinatians and registered veterinary technicians.
